Responsibilities:

As a Professional Land Surveyor , you will collect, analyze, and measure property data while supporting the continued growth of the company. Collaborate with project leaders to develop accurate plans and schedules for survey projects. Define survey objectives and select the appropriate surveying methods. Prepare questionnaires to collect survey data relevant to the organization's projects. Maintain, test, and calibrate surveying equipment and instruments. Oversee survey activities to ensure projects are completed on schedule. Select, manage, train, and evaluate key survey team members. Review historical land records and existing survey maps to establish survey specifications. Keep management informed by preparing and submitting detailed survey findings and progress reports. Perform quality control reviews of completed reports and identify data discrepancies or anomalies. Remain current on industry developments, surveying methods, and regulatory requirements. Use specialized software—including Trimble Business Center, Carlson, Autodesk Civil 3D, Topcon Magnet Office, and Revit—to develop 3D models of land maps. Map official property boundaries and prepare legal descriptions, plats, and easements.

Qualifications:

Hold an Ohio surveying license or be in the process of obtaining one. Have prior experience in professional land surveying or geomatics, or hold a related degree. Demonstrate a strong understanding of surveying technology, principles, methods, and practices. Possess working knowledge of occupational hazards and appropriate safety precautions within the industry. Bring strong knowledge of AutoCAD, Carlson, BIM, GPS, and/or robotic total stations. Experience with 3D laser scanners and aerial photogrammetry is preferred but not required. Be willing to travel to locations up to four to five hours from headquarters; overnight stays are generally not required.
