Responsibilities Lead and manage surveying crews in field data collection, boundary surveys, topographic mapping, and construction surveys using advanced surveying equipment such as GPS systems, 3D scanners, and Trimble technology Operate and maintain surveying tools including total stations, GNSS receivers, GIS software, and laser scanners to ensure precise data acquisition Prepare detailed survey drawings and reports utilizing CAD software like AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation, Revit, Carlson, and ArcGIS for design integration and project documentation Conduct legal boundary descriptions, ALTA surveys (American Land Title Association), schematics, and construction plans with accuracy and attention to detail Oversee project planning by managing survey schedules, coordinating with clients and contractors, and ensuring compliance with project specifications and safety standards Analyze survey data using trigonometry, algebra, geometry, and civil engineering principles to produce reliable topographic maps and land descriptions Ensure quality control by reviewing survey data for accuracy before submission; troubleshoot technical issues related to surveying equipment operation or data collection processes Collaborate with civil engineers and architects on drafting site plans or schematics; support project management efforts through detailed documentation of survey findings Qualifications Proven experience in land surveying with a strong background in civil engineering principles; familiarity with managing surveying teams preferred Proficiency in GIS applications, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Carlson, Revit, MicroStation, ArcGIS; experience with 3D scanners and GPS surveying technology essential Solid understanding of boundary surveys, topographic mapping, construction staking, ALTA surveys, legal descriptions and construction plans Skilled in operating various surveying equipment including total stations, GNSS/GPS units (such as Trimble), laser scanners, and related CAD software tools Knowledge of civil engineering concepts such as schematics design, data collection techniques, and managing mapping or surveying teams Strong mathematical skills including algebra, trigonometry, geometry; ability to interpret complex schematics and technical drawings accurately Excellent project management abilities with experience coordinating multiple survey projects simultaneously while adhering to deadlines Valid land surveying license or certification preferred; relevant certifications in GPS or GIS are a plus Join us to be part of a forward-thinking organization that values innovation in land surveying.
