Responsibilities Lead survey crews in conducting construction layout surveys, topographic surveys, ALTA surveys, and heavy civil for bolts with precision and efficiency Operate and maintain surveying equipment including total stations, GPS/GNSS systems (such as Topcon), and data collectors to gather accurate field data Perform utility locating using specialized tools to identify underground utilities before excavation or construction activities Prepare detailed schematics, drawings, and CAD files using AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Revit, MicroStation, and Land Desktop software for project documentation and design purposes Conduct field surveying activities utilizing levels, total stations, hand tools, and GPS units; analyze data for accuracy and completeness Collaborate with project managers and engineers to develop construction staking plans based on precise measurements and legal descriptions Ensure all safety protocols are followed during field operations while managing heavy lifting tasks when necessary Qualifications Proven experience as a survey party chief or senior survey technician with a strong background in Heavy Industrial Construction. Proficiency in operating surveying equipment including total stations, GPS/GNSS systems (Topcon GNSS preferred), and related CAD software (AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation) Knowledge of topographic surveys, construction layout surveys, ALTA surveys, schematics interpretation, and legal land descriptions Skilled in data collection techniques such as field surveying with total stations and GPS units; capable of analyzing survey data accurately Familiarity with GIS software like ArcGIS for mapping and spatial analysis tasks Ability to perform construction staking with precision; experience with drafting CAD drawings is highly desirable Strong math skills including trigonometry, algebra, geometry; ability to apply these concepts in real-world surveying scenarios Excellent communication skills for coordinating with team members and clients; physically capable of heavy lifting and working outdoors in various conditions Join us to be part of a forward-thinking organization that values your technical expertise and leadership.
