Surveyor ITG Communications - 2.8 Kent, WA Job Details Full-time $22 - $26 an hour 5 hours ago Qualifications Outdoor work experience High school diploma or GED Construction plans Measuring instruments GPS mapping Construction drawing review Field data collection Directional drills GPS receivers Mobile devices Full Job Description Job Description This role is responsible for conducting field surveys to assess construction feasibility, collecting accurate site data, and helping to ensure successful fiber installations. The ideal candidate has a solid understanding of utility infrastructure, fiber construction methods, and permitting requirements. Responsibilities Conduct site surveys for proposed fiber construction projects, including aerial and underground routes. Document existing utility infrastructure (poles, conduit, handholes, etc.) and identify potential conflicts or obstacles. Capture precise measurements, photographs, and GIS data to support engineering designs. Interpret construction prints, permitting requirements, and right-of-way regulations. Communicate findings and recommendations clearly with engineering, permitting, and construction teams. Coordinate with local municipalities, utility companies, and property owners as needed. Ensure safety and compliance standards are upheld during all site visits. Requirements High school diploma or equivalent; Associate degree in a related field is a plus. 2+ years of experience in field surveying, utility construction, or fiber deployment. Familiarity with fiber construction methods (aerial, underground, directional boring). Proficient with GPS tools, measuring equipment, and mobile data collection apps. Ability to read and interpret construction plans, maps, and utility prints. Strong organizational and communication skills. Willingness to travel within assigned territories and work in outdoor environments. Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, sit Ability to use hands to handle or feet Ability to reach with hands and arms Ability to climb and balance Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl Ability to lift up to 75lbs Ability to maintain all safety expectations Works outdoors for extended periods.
