Full Job Description Location:
Gastonia, NC Schedule:
Full-time, onsite, 12+ month contract
Experience:
7+ years required; 10+ years preferred
Education:
Associate's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, or related field We are looking for an experienced Test & Validation Engineering Technician to support the testing, troubleshooting, validation, and development of advanced embedded motor control systems . This is a hands-on role focused on PCB-based motor controllers, electrical systems, test fixtures, and laboratory testing . What You'll Do Troubleshoot and debug embedded motor controllers and PCB/PWB-based electronics Diagnose electrical, hardware, firmware, and signal-related issues Troubleshoot motor drives, control panels, and automated test fixtures Build, modify, document, and maintain electrical test fixtures and test setups Perform engineering testing, validation, and product characterization Use advanced test equipment, including: Oscilloscopes, Logic analyzers, Programmable DC power supplies, Electronic loads, Signal generators, and Multimeters Analyze test results and communicate findings to engineering teams Support new product development and design verification Develop test methods and procedures with engineering Create test reports, troubleshooting documentation, and other technical documentation Maintain and manage a small electronics/motor-controller laboratory Verify the operation of prototype electronic assemblies and systems Independently manage assignments and drive projects through completion What We're Looking For 7+ years of electrical testing, troubleshooting, validation, or related experience Associate's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, or related field Strong hands-on experience troubleshooting embedded electronic systems Experience with motor controllers, motor drives, motion control, or industrial controls Strong understanding of brushless motor control theory Advanced experience using electronic test and measurement equipment Ability to read and interpret schematics, PCB layouts, wiring diagrams, and test procedures Strong root-cause analysis and troubleshooting skills Ability to work independently and take ownership of projects Preferred Experience Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology 10+ years of relevant experience Experience with resolvers and
ARINC 429
Experience developing electrical test fixtures and automated test setups Background in power electronics Experience in an R D, product development, or engineering laboratory environment Experience supporting verification, validation, and qualification testing Familiarity with AutoCAD, Altium, Visio, and Microsoft Office Ideal Backgrounds Candidates with experience in the following areas may be a strong match: Embedded motor controllers Motion control systems Brushless motors Industrial controls Power electronics Electrical/electronic test and validation R D laboratory environments Product development
