at RK&K in Wilmington, Delaware, United States Job Description RK&K is hiring a Traffic Engineering Intern to join our Traffic team in our Wilmington, DE office for the summer of 2027. As an intern in our Traffic Department at RK&K, you will receive on-the-job training, work alongside, and collaborate closely with one of the largest, most talented groups of traffic engineers and transportation professionals in the industry. This internship is for Civil Engineering Students in the Transportation discipline who will have completed their second or third year at the end of the Spring 2027 semester. In this role, interns will gain insight into various aspects of traffic engineering including design, forecasting, and analysis. Traffic Engineering Interns will be exposed to various challenges, projects and technologies related to traffic operations, safety, and design, and will complete tasks both in the office and in the field as needed.

Basic Functions:

Interns work on projects throughout the mid-Atlantic region including traffic calming, field data collection, roadway improvement projects, design of bicycle and pedestrian facilities, highway safety, work zones, Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS), corridor planning, signing, lighting, pavement markings, and developing creative solutions to complex projects. Assist with the design and operation of intelligent transportation systems and traffic control devices including signal timing and phasing documents. Assist with the research and analysis of traffic related topics.

Required Skills & Experience:

Currently pursuing a degree in Civil Engineering with an interest in transportation Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) Self-motivated with a strong attention to detail Ability to work both independently and in a team environment. Excellent written and oral communication skills Valid driver's license

Preferred Skills & Experience:
