Position summary:
Responsible for engineering traffic studies using knowledge of general engineering principles and practices to interpret, organize, execute and coordinate assignments with limited supervision. Acts as a technical advisor to less experienced engineers. Immigration sponsorship or support (e.g.
H1B, F-1 CPT/OPT/STEM OPT
) is not available for this position, except for qualified candidates eligible for the TN visa classification. Essential Functions and Responsibilities Perform field observation and collect traffic data.
Learn and become proficient in performing traffic analysis utilizing traffic software such as HCS and Synchro
Conduct safety evaluations and crash assessments.
Develop solutions to mitigate traffic deficiencies
Assist in the preparation of conceptual layouts depicting recommended improvements
Prepare technical memorandums and reports associated with large and medium scale traffic studies
Learn traffic control devices design that include signing, markings, signals, lighting, and Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) using CAD software
Coordinate with internal team members to ensure project completion by the defined deadline and established quality

Proficient in traffic analysis software such as HCS and Synchro
Familiar with Highway Capacity Manual and ITE Trip Generation Manual Preferred Experience EIT or PE License
Familiar with MUTCD, AASHTO, and Highway Safety Manual Working Conditions Work is performed within a general office environment 95% of the time. Work is generally sedentary in nature but may require occasional standing and walking. Lighting and temperature are adequate and there are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc. within the office environment. Field work is required on occasion where work may be conducted outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions. Some lifting (up to 25lbs) may be required as needed.
