Performs field work; uses automated systems. Design activity is overseen by a licensed professional engineer or registered architect who has final approval authority for projects. Employees at this level follow standard practices that do not require frequent supervision of details.
Transport Engineer Tech I Essential Duties:
Performs basic design work Prepares field notes. Prepares quantity summaries, hydraulic and utility studies and right-of-way maps. Prepares roadway design. traffic control, lighting, signal, and building plans Performs other Job responsibilities as assigned. Transport Engineer Tech II (including Transport Engineer Tech I)
Essential Duties:
Performs advanced drafting and calculations in support of design activities, develops graphic presentations that include distinctive design features. Performs intermediate design work Prepares environmental documents Reviews entire sets of plans for format, drafting and calculation errors and correlation of plans and specifications. Schedules, coordinates, and prepares documents for public hearings Writes general notes, specifications and provisions
Minimum Qualifications:
Education :
High School Grad or Equivalent in general high school studies.
Experience :
Transport Engineer Tech I:
No experience required. (Experience can be satisfied by full time or prorated part time equivalent). Related College education or relevant technical training may be substituted for experience on a year per year basis . Substitutions for
Minimum Qualifications Transport Engineer Tech II:
2 YEARS Drafting, design, plan preparation (Experience can be satisfied by fulltime or prorated parttime equivalent)
Licenses and Certifications :
Valid driver's license. This position requires driving a state vehicle.
