SUMMARY The Quality Engineer is responsible for maintaining and improving quality standards for manufacturing processes and products. This position leads the company's
ISO 9001
Quality Management System (QMS), internal audit program, quality engineering activities, and continuous improvement efforts.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead and maintain the
ISO 9001
Quality Management System (QMS) and serve as Lead Internal ISO Auditor. Support internal, external, customer, and ISO certification audits. Review quality requirements for new products, drawings, specifications, and customer requirements. Manage customer complaints, supplier quality issues, NCMRs, root cause investigations, and corrective actions. Perform First Article Inspections (FAI), process capability studies, and quality data analysis. Read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and GD&T. Develop process control plans, sampling plans, inspection methods, and quality procedures. Program and operate video/non-contact CMM equipment and improve automated inspection programs. Maintain calibration systems and metrology activities. Monitor supplier quality performance and coordinate corrective actions with suppliers. Apply quality tools including SPC, DOE, root cause analysis, and process capability analysis. Lead and support Lean Manufacturing, 5S, risk assessment, and continuous improvement initiatives. Collaborate with Production, Operations, Sales, Purchasing, and suppliers to resolve quality and technical issues. Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements:
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical field. Minimum of 5 years of Quality Engineering experience in a manufacturing environment. Strong knowledge of GD&T, blueprint interpretation, and dimensional measurement. Experience with metrology equipment, including video or non-contact CMM systems. Experience with ISO 9001 or similar Quality Management Systems, including internal and external audits. Working knowledge of quality and process improvement tools including Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, SPC, DOE, MSA, PFMEA, CAPA, and Root Cause Analysis. Experience developing process controls, inspection methods, and corrective actions. Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
