Position Overview Bennett Metal Products is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Quality Engineer to join our team. This position plays an important role in ensuring our precision-manufactured products consistently meet customer specifications, industry requirements, and our high standards for quality and craftsmanship. The Quality Engineer will collaborate closely with project management, machinist, and quality personnel to resolve quality concerns, improve manufacturing processes, and support continuous improvement throughout the organization.

Responsibilities Develop, implement, and maintain the company's quality management system in accordance with ISO 9001 and applicable customer and industry requirements. Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) requirements. Develop and execute inspection programs using PC-DMIS software and coordinate measuring machines (CMMs). Perform dimensional inspections, first article inspections, in-process inspections, and final inspections. Prepare and review First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs), inspection reports, certificates of conformance, and customer-required quality documentation. Conduct internal quality audits and support customer and third-party audits. Investigate nonconforming products and coordinate root-cause analysis, corrective actions, and preventive actions. Collaborate with project managers, engineering, and production personnel to resolve quality concerns and improve manufacturing processes. Analyze inspection results and quality data to identify trends and continuous improvement opportunities. Assist with the development of inspection plans, control plans, work instructions, and quality procedures. Ensure measuring and inspection equipment is properly maintained, calibrated, and documented. Communicate quality requirements clearly to employees, suppliers, and customers. Train team members on inspection methods, GD&T, quality procedures, and best practices. Promote a team-oriented culture focused on accountability, precision, quality, and continuous improvement. Qualifications and Skills Experience working in quality engineering, quality assurance, or dimensional inspection within a precision manufacturing or machining environment. Strong knowledge of GD&T principles and the ability to interpret complex engineering drawings. Experience programming and operating CMMs using PC-DMIS software. Knowledge of
ISO 9001
quality management system requirements. Experience conducting internal audits, inspections, and corrective-action investigations. Familiarity with first article inspection requirements and quality documentation. Understanding of machining processes, measurement techniques, and inspection equipment. Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and root-cause problem-solving skills. Excellent organizational and project-management abilities. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to collaborate effectively with project management, engineering, production, customers, and suppliers. Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to producing accurate, high-quality work.
