Quality Assurance New Projects Specalist

Job Description

SUMMARY:
Provide quality assurance support to all ASI locations to ensure that purchased product is built in accordance with customer and company quality requirements. Provides leadership and guidance to the production areas in support of product quality with primary focus on new model launch.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Communicates and interacts with all departments for products in all ASI locations. Lead assigned projects in development of all project documentation and activities (from supplier to customer) Quality Planning activity from drawing issue to Start of Production +3 month including report out at 5 major steps. Plan and meet milestones according to customer and internal schedules and process review gates. Drive built in quality through design review, process plan review, process review, line preparation review and reflection stages in ASI and the ASI supplier base. Study all applicable mass production and field concern items and carry forward to new projects through review and development of PFMA and Control Plan. Perform "Go and See" audit and study activity within ASI companies and ASI supplier base domestic and international. Travel fluctuates with project timing. (~25%). Assist to develop and maintain work instructions and procedures related to the QA new project group activities.
QUALIFICATIONS
Ability to manage multiple priorities and tasks. Ability to analyze data and plan improvement activities. Possess good verbal and written communication skills. Working knowledge of steel manufacturing systems and processes. Knowledge of the Toyota Production System. Display statistical/analytical reasoning. Quality certification a plus. Project management experience (APQP). Proven record of project management is preferred.
EDUCATION &/OR EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree in quality, engineering or related fields. 5+ years' experience in quality, engineering or related manufacturing field preferred; however, could be an entry level Quality Assurance position.

$48,000.00 - $58,000.00 per year
