Seeking a Quality Engineer who will support new product/process development and manufacturing through the application of quality engineering techniques. This individual will ensure that product meets quality standards consistent with customer and other regulatory requirements. The Quality Engineer will represent the organization and interface with the customer on a regular basis. This role also supports plant activities in customer issues, supplier issues, and maintain compliance with the Quality Policy of Concord Tool & Manufacturing.
Job Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
Represent the "Needs of the Customer" in internal functions Member of the APQP project teams, with the responsibility to contribute to the successful launch of products. Ensure accounting for customer-specific requirements and inclusion of quality specifications/standards. Push for the selection of appropriate special characteristics during the APQP process. Manage the preparation of capability studies, PFMEA, inspection standards, and control plans for all current and new products. Support the customer PPAP submission process. Support the continuous review of control plans and capability studies to assure compliance and continuous improvement. To be flexible to work in 2nd and 3rd shifts, as required for completing assigned tasks. Manage for the highest level of customer satisfaction. Develop improvement plans when gaps are present. Initiate action to prevent the occurrence of any nonconformities relating to the product, process, and quality system. Maintains continuous improvement effort by managing/conducting analysis on product defects and recommending improvement modifications for correction. Ensures proper problem-solving techniques and verifies the implementation of solutions and/or corrective actions. Act as a customer liaison for any quality-related customer concerns. Control further processing, delivery, or installation of nonconforming products until the deficiency or unsatisfactory condition has been corrected. Responsible for ensuring compliance with the Quality Management System, IATF 16949, and any applicable customer-specific requirements. To drive the problem-solving process for any customer concern received and perform root cause analysis in weekly Quality meetings. Assist the team as needed in the new program launch events. Other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications and Education Requirements:
A Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering, Quality Management, or Mechanical Engineering, with at least 2 years minimum experience in Quality Management or related technical field, preferably in a Tier 1 metal stamping and welding environment. Ability to read blueprints and have an advanced understanding of GDT. Read, interpret, and comprehend all safety and operational documents and procedures. Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability, capability, and statistical analysis. Ability to perform multiple tasks in a fast-paced manufacturing environment to ensure delivery requirements. Maintain proper certifications and/or qualifications for the position. Monitor and communicate Quality related operational measurable. Evaluate the competence of direct reports to perform defined activities and adjust when needed. Lift up to thirty (30) pounds.
