This role works closely with Production, Engineering, Tool and Die, Logistics, and customers to prevent defects, solve quality concerns, maintain required quality documentation, and strengthen manufacturing processes. Depending on business needs and experience, the position may place greater emphasis on control plans and PFMEAs, audit management, or customer-specific requirements. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Support product and process quality from launch through serial production, including APQP activities and production readiness reviews. Create, maintain, and improve quality documents such as process flow diagrams, PFMEAs, control plans, inspection instructions, and related records. Monitor process performance and product quality using data, audits, inspections, capability studies, and other appropriate quality tools. Lead or support structured problem solving for internal, supplier, and customer concerns; coordinate containment, root-cause analysis, corrective action, and verification of effectiveness. Prepare clear and timely customer responses, including 8D reports and supporting evidence, and follow actions through closure. Support internal, customer, certification, layered process, product, and process audits; document findings and help responsible teams complete corrective actions. Identify, interpret, and help implement applicable customer-specific requirements, drawings, specifications, and quality standards. Partner with cross-functional teams on changes, deviations, new equipment, tooling, and continuous-improvement activities that affect product or process quality. Support measurement-system, inspection, and calibration activities as assigned, and help ensure records are accurate and current. Promote compliance with company procedures, safety requirements, and the Quality Management System. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in engineering, quality, manufacturing, or a related technical field preferred; relevant manufacturing quality experience may be considered in place of a degree. Experience in automotive or high-volume manufacturing preferred, particularly metal stamping, welding, or light assembly. Working knowledge of core quality tools, including APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, control plans, MSA, and SPC. Familiarity with IATF 16949 and

requirements; auditor training or experience is a plus. Ability to analyze data, solve problems systematically, manage priorities, and communicate effectively with employees, leadership, suppliers, and customers. Proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with customer portals, statistical software, or ERP/QMS systems is helpful. Success in This Role A successful Quality Engineer is visible on the production floor, responds calmly and promptly to quality concerns, uses facts and data to guide decisions, keeps commitments, and builds practical controls that employees can understand and follow. Work Environment This position works in both an office and an active manufacturing environment. Regular time on the production floor is required. The employee must follow all safety rules and wear required personal protective equipment. Occasional schedule flexibility or travel may be required to support customers, suppliers, audits, or production needs.
