The Specialized Recruiting Group division of Express Employment Professionals in Ithaca, NY is seeking a Quality Engineer for a Direct Hire placement with an Ithaca company. The Quality Engineer is responsible for maintaining and improving the Quality Management System (QMS), leading root-cause investigations, overseeing inspection standards, and driving continuous improvement across manufacturing or product development lifecycles

Key Responsibilities Quality Systems & Compliance:

Develop, maintain, and update QMS documentation in alignment with standards such as

ISO 9001

Root Cause Analysis & CAPA:

Lead nonconformance reports (NCR), Material Review Board (MRB) dispositions, and Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA) investigations

Process & Product Verification:

Design and execute inspection plans, process capability studies (SPC), and Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA).

Audits:

Conduct internal quality audits and support external, customer, or regulatory inspections.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

Partner with design engineering, manufacturing/operations, and suppliers to resolve quality issues and support New Product Introduction Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical, Aerospace Engineering, or a related technical discipline required 3+ years of experience in a quality engineering, manufacturing, or production environment. Familiarity with statistical analysis tools (e.g., Minitab, Excel) Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) Working knowledge of quality frameworks (Lean, Six Sigma, SPC, PPAP, FMEA) Our client is a long-standing solid organization in the Ithaca area focused on excellence in their product and high customer service.
