Alkon Corporation in Fremont, OH is seeking an organized experienced Quality Engineer to join our growing company, you will work to improve existing procedures and processes within our system and collaborate with team members to build new quality controls, tests, and verifications. The desired candidate would have the ability to design and implement control systems for quality assurance. The Quality Engineer will lead the activities related to quality control inspection and testing of materials, parts, and products to ensure adherence to established standards within Alkon's quality system. Will ensure that quality in being maintained in all factors involved in machining and production. Responsible for all activities involving quality assurance and compliance with applicable regulatory requirements. You will establish and implement a complete quality control program that identifies potential and actual problems and oversee team involvement with corrective actions. You will apply your expertise and problem solving techniques to resolve critical quality control issues.

Key responsibilities:

Oversee corrective/preventive action system and follow-up on implementation and documentation. Prepare reports for management which demonstrate trends and help direct improvement efforts. Develop, implement and maintain quality policies, procedures, standards, forms and records. Review the effectiveness of the quality system and prepare periodic reports for executive management review. Assure compliance and recommend actions to improve the effectiveness of the quality system. Conduct internal audits of the quality system to verify conformance to documented quality policies, procedures, standards and record keeping and controlling authority. Track customer returns, internal defects test yields, scrap and downtime reports and other nonconforming conditions and report the status and corrective action to management. Facilitate quality training for all employees on Quality Assurance state of the art tools, systems, methods and procedures. Recommend to executive management ongoing audit plans and other activities to ensure consistently high levels of quality to customers worldwide. Develop actions to address quality system, key process and customer problems. Review work, assist employees, evaluate performance, and enforce company rules. Analyze trends and take corrective/preventive actions accordingly. Perform other related duties as assigned. Requirements BS in Engineering from an accredited university or similar work related experience. Minimum experience of five (5) years in Quality Management Systems Minimum experience of two (2) in quality personnel supervision Knowledge of and familiarity with ISO9000 requirements Knowledge of and experience with Lean Manufacturing tools and processes Excellent written and verbal communications skills required.
