Description Day in the Life of a Quality Engineer Bring your experience and ideas and help us develop and execute the processes used in the manufacturing environment to ensure robust and cost-effective designs. As an Entry Level Quality Engineer, you will be an integral part of the team, working closely with customers, subcontractors, manufacturing, and engineering. You'll hone your technical abilities on significant engineering problems, while gaining experience in leadership and communication. As a Quality Engineer at Bell, you can expect to: Assist in the development and execution of processes used in the manufacturing environment to ensure robust and cost‑effective designs. Analyze manufacturing and inspection processes to determine capability, identify failure modes, and recommend corrective action and improvement opportunities. Participate in design requirements analysis to develop new quality control processes (including those involving advanced aerospace materials) and validate corrective actions. Support one or more quality focus areas as a Helper/Learner/Detail Manager , such as: Corrective Action Continuous Improvement Customer Service and Support Inspection Processes/Techniques Quality Systems & Records Metrology/Calibration Quality Program Management Apply and learn basic product manufacturing, inspection, and testing methods, including the use of appropriate inspection technology and measurement equipment. Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to understand customer requirements, quality standards, and regulatory guidelines and translate them into practical process controls. Use data and problem‑solving tools to support root cause analysis, trend identification, and preventive actions. Document work clearly and accurately to maintain quality records, traceability, and configuration control. Communicate status, risks, and recommendations to teammates and leadership in a clear, concise manner. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications What You'll Need Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Quality Engineering, or a closely related technical field required. 0-2 years of relevant experience in manufacturing, quality, or engineering (co‑ops, internships, projects, or lab experience strongly considered). Hands‑on experience with mechanical systems, manufacturing processes, or industrial equipment (may be gained through school projects, labs, internships, or prior work). Foundational understanding of product manufacture, inspection, testing, and basic inspection technology. Ability to learn and apply process management concepts, technical specifications, regulatory guidelines, and quality standards. Strong teamwork and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross‑functional environments. Business acumen and interest in how quality, cost, and schedule interact in a production environment. What Will Make You Stand Out Active A&P license or progress toward licensure Experience with CATIA V5/V6, MATLAB, and ANSYS for design, analysis, or data evaluation. Experience with SAP, CAMS, or other ERP/MES systems in a manufacturing or maintenance environment. Hands‑on experience in automotive, agricultural, construction, or computer/electronics industries, especially in roles involving mechanical systems or manufacturing processes. Exposure to quality tools and methodologies (e.g., basic statistics, FMEA, control plans, Lean/Six Sigma concepts, root cause analysis). Demonstrated leadership, teamwork, and communication skills (student organizations, project teams, or prior work experience).
