Mechanical Validation Engineer Abilene, TX (Relocation Assistance Offered) Onsite 5 Days/Week 6-Month Contract-to-Hire Must be a US Citizen or Green Card Holder We're seeking a Mechanical Validation Engineer to support large-scale, mission-critical data center deployments. This is a hands-on validation and commissioning role focused on ensuring cooling infrastructure, mechanical systems, testing evidence, and turnover documentation are fully validated and operationally ready before handoff. Top Must-Haves ✅ Mechanical commissioning, validation, or critical facilities experience ✅ Deep knowledge of HVAC/cooling infrastructure, including chillers, pumps, cooling towers, CRAH/CRAC units, hydronic systems, and airflow management ✅ Experience reviewing commissioning documentation, functional testing results, turnover packages, and readiness evidence ✅ Ability to identify operational risks, readiness gaps, and drive issue resolution across cross-functional teams Preferred Backgrounds Data Center (strongly preferred) Nuclear Facilities (commercial or DoD) Mission Critical Infrastructure Critical Manufacturing Facilities Industrial Facilities with complex mechanical systems What You'll Be Doing Validate mechanical readiness for new facility deployments, expansions, and infrastructure upgrades Review commissioning records, functional performance testing, integrated systems testing, balancing reports, and turnover packages Verify readiness of critical cooling and mechanical infrastructure Partner with commissioning teams, construction, engineering, controls/BMS, and operations teams to resolve validation findings Support integrated systems testing, failure-mode testing, thermal validation activities, and operational readiness reviews Ensure documentation, operational procedures, training requirements, and handoff materials are complete and accurate Ideal Experience 5+ years of mechanical validation, commissioning, facilities engineering, critical facilities, or mission-critical infrastructure experience Experience in data centers, nuclear facilities, utilities, manufacturing, healthcare, aviation, or other high-availability environments Familiarity with BMS, commissioning platforms, CMMS, DCIM, Jira, ServiceNow, Smartsheet, or similar tools If you have a background in data center commissioning/validation or nuclear mechanical systems and enjoy ensuring infrastructure is fully operational and ready for handoff, I'd love to connect.
