Job Description

Overview Join our dynamic finance team as an Accountant and play a vital role in maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and supporting The Habitat for Humanity of the Nature Coast's financial health. This energetic position offers the opportunity to work with accounting systems and software, including QuickBooks, MS Excel, and Word, while applying your expertise in accounting. Responsibilities Assist the CFO to help manage day-to-day accounting functions including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bookkeeping activities to ensure timely processing of transactions across multiple counties. Perform general ledger accounting, account reconciliation, and balance sheet reconciliation to maintain accurate financial records. Prepare journal entries, conduct account analysis, and support month-end and year-end closing processes in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles). Utilize financial software such as ADP to generate financial reports. Conduct Excel data analysis for budgeting, variance analysis, and financial forecasting to support strategic decision-making. Handle confidential information with integrity while managing multiple tasks efficiently in a deadline-driven environment. Qualifications Proven experience in accounting or finance roles with familiarity in non-profit accounting principles and governmental accounting standards. Strong knowledge of accounting software QuickBooks. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite with advanced skills in Excel for data analysis and spreadsheet management. Solid understanding of GAAP, double entry bookkeeping, debits & credits, journal entries, and general ledger reconciliation. Ability to perform detailed account analysis, balance sheet reconciliation, and account reconciliation tasks accurately. Excellent numeracy skills coupled with strong attention to detail and organizational abilities. Effective communication skills to collaborate across departments and handle customer service inquiries related to billing or account issues.
