A great UHY client is seeking a Senior Accountant - General Ledger to support the accounting function of a growing organization. This role will focus heavily on general ledger accounting, high-volume balance sheet reconciliations, and preparation of journal entries while supporting the organization through continued growth and acquisition activity. The Senior Accountant - General Ledger role is an interim opportunity expected to last approximately 3-6 months. The position can be fully remote, but candidates must be willing to travel to Plantation, FL for training and important meetings. Candidates located in Florida, particularly the Miami area, are strongly preferred due to the potential for this opportunity to convert to a permanent position. Senior Accountant - General Ledger Responsibilities Prepare high-volume general ledger journal entries in accordance with company policies and procedures Perform detailed balance sheet reconciliations and ensure accounts are accurate and properly supported Research and resolve discrepancies and reconciling items in a timely manner Support month-end close activities and ensure deadlines are met Maintain accurate and complete general ledger records across multiple accounts and entities Analyze account activity and identify unusual or inconsistent transactions Work within Oracle ERP to record, review, and reconcile financial activity Utilize Hyperion SmartView and other reporting tools to support financial analysis and reporting Collaborate with accounting and finance teams to resolve issues and maintain accurate financial information Support accounting activities related to acquisitions and organizational growth Prepare supporting schedules and documentation for internal and external reporting requirements Perform additional accounting duties and projects as assigned Senior Accountant - General Ledger Requirements Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred Strong general ledger accounting experience required High-volume balance sheet reconciliation experience required Experience preparing journal entries in a corporate accounting environment Oracle ERP experience strongly preferred Experience with Hyperion SmartView preferred Tableau experience a plus SQL coding experience a significant plus Strong attention to detail and accuracy Self-starter with a hands-on, "doer" mentality Ability to independently prepare journal entries, reconcile accounts, research discrepancies, and complete accounting responsibilities without significant direction Strong organizational and time-management skills Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment experiencing growth and acquisition activity Ability to work remotely while traveling to Plantation, FL for training and important meetings Florida-based candidates, particularly those in the Miami area, strongly preferred UHY Advisors' Resource Solutions Group provides clients with accomplished professionals to support finance, accounting, internal audit and tax teams.
