Job Summary Strong Roofing is seeking a highly organized, detail‑driven Construction Project Accounting Specialist to support financial operations across multiple roofing and construction projects. This role manages general bookkeeping, job costing, financial tracking, and assists the Controller with full‑cycle Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR). The ideal candidate is proactive, accurate, and comfortable working in a laid back but busy work environment and will be instrumental in managing financial processes specific to construction projects, ensuring accurate cost tracking, budget adherence, and compliance with accounting standards. Key Responsibilities Maintain accurate financial records, ledgers, and project files. Perform job costing, including labor, materials, subcontractors, and overhead allocation. Track project budgets, cost variances, and financial performance. Process full‑cycle

AP:

invoice entry, coding, verification, approvals, and payment scheduling. Process full‑cycle

AR:

billing, payment posting, customer account reconciliation, and collections follow‑up. Assist Controller with month‑end close, reporting, and financial analysis. Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, vendor statements, and project accounts. Prepare customer invoices, progress billings, and change order documentation. Maintain compliance with lien releases, NTOs, NOCs, and project documentation requirements. Support the Controller with financial updates, cost reports, and budget tracking. Ensure accuracy and timeliness of all financial entries related to construction projects. Assist with audits, insurance documentation, and financial record requests. Maintain organized digital and physical filing systems. Learn and help implement new accounting systems and automation tools as the company scales Qualifications 2-4 years of accounting experience; construction or roofing industry Knowledge of construction management processes and CRM software (JobNimbus) Strong understanding of job costing, project accounting, and AP/AR workflows. Proficiency with accounting software (QuickBooks Online). Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, data analysis). Familiarity with subcontractor compliance, insurance certificates, and vendor onboarding Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously. Excellent communication and organizational skills. Experience with lien laws, NTOs, NOCs, and construction billing Ability to interpret contracts, proposals, and project financial requirements. Experience supporting a Controller or senior accounting leadership.

Pay:

$27.30 - $32.87 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
