We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to support key accounting operations for a manufacturing organization in Chattanooga area. This long-term contract position will focus on maintaining accurate financial records, assisting with close processes, and ensuring timely reconciliation of critical accounts. The ideal candidate brings strong analytical skills and hands-on experience across general ledger activity, fixed assets, and expense management.

Responsibilities:

Perform detailed invoice reviews and reconcile billing records to support accurate financial reporting. Manage account reconciliation activities across assigned entities and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner. Oversee corporate credit card transaction matching, documentation review, and monthly reconciliation efforts. Support month-end close by preparing schedules, reviewing balances, and helping ensure deadlines are met. Maintain fixed asset records, including additions, retirements, depreciation tracking, and related account analysis. Prepare and post journal entries to keep the general ledger complete and accurate. Assist with sales tax-related accounting tasks and help maintain compliance with reporting requirements. BA/BS in Accounting or Finance at least 3 years of Staff Accountant experience Intermediate to Advanced Microsoft Excel skills Experience in staff accounting within a manufacturing or similar operational environment. Ability to prepare journal entries and maintain general ledger accuracy. Solid understanding of fixed asset accounting and depreciation schedules. Familiarity with corporate credit card reconciliation and expense review procedures. Experience supporting month-end close activities and account reconciliation work. Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
