Murken Thompson is an agricultural niche tax and accounting firm located in Swisher, Iowa, just 5 minutes south of Cedar Rapids. We are looking to add an Accountant position to our growing team. Murken Thompson is a progressive local firm with great potential for growth. At Murken Thompson we truly believe in rewarding hard work. Tax season will require longer hours; however, you will enjoy a 4-day (32 hour) workweek for 6 months of the year. The right candidate for this position will have a solid knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, QuickBooks (any other accounting package experience a plus) and will have excellent PC Skills. Preference will be given to candidates with prior experience in accounting and tax preparation including experience with Lacerte. This is a client focused position; Job duties will include accounting statements, reconciliation, payroll, and

W-2/1099

preparation, in addition to other accounting work. We are looking for an outgoing candidate who has excellent communication and interpersonal skills, is self-motivated, and has the ability to multi-task effectively while actively working with 60-100 clients.

• 1-3 years direct accounting experience
