Reporting to the Deputy Director of Finance, the Accountant supports the Finance Department by performing a variety of routine and complex accounting tasks, assuming primary responsibility for recording monthly accounting activity and Accounts Receivable processing. Duties include but are not limited to monthly journal entries, reconciliation of balance sheet accounts, accounts receivable, assistance with annual audit and budget, and providing support to the front desk.. Qualified candidates must have a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, or a closely related field, a minimum of two (2) years accounting experience in a team environment - municipal setting preferred. Any equivalent combination of education and experience that enables an individual to successfully perform the job duties will be considered. Strong attention to detail, knowledge in the application of various accounting principles, the ability to manage multiple tasks, organize work, set priorities, meet scheduled deadlines and follow up on assignments with a minimum of direction is key. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel is required and experience with Springbrook ERP system is preferred.
