$90,000 - $110,000/yr, BOE Position Overview A well-established organization in St. Clair County is seeking an experienced Senior Tax Accountant to join its growing finance team. This role is responsible for preparing and reviewing tax filings, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations, and providing strategic tax planning support. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, analytical, and possesses a strong understanding of corporate and individual tax matters. Key Responsibilities Prepare and review federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals, corporations, partnerships, and trusts. Ensure compliance with all applicable tax laws, regulations, and reporting requirements. Research complex tax issues and provide recommendations to management and clients. Assist with tax planning strategies aimed at minimizing tax liabilities and maximizing compliance. Prepare quarterly and annual tax provisions and related financial reporting schedules. Support audits and examinations conducted by taxing authorities. Review financial statements and accounting records to ensure tax accuracy. Monitor changes in tax legislation and assess potential impacts to the organization or clients. Coordinate with internal departments and external advisors regarding tax-related matters. Mentor and support junior accounting staff as needed. Maintain accurate tax records and documentation. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required. CPA designation preferred. 3+ years of public accounting or corporate tax experience. Strong knowledge of federal and state tax regulations. Experience preparing and reviewing complex tax returns. Proficiency with tax preparation software and Microsoft Excel. Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Strong written and verbal communication abilities. Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines. Pay:
