Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Staff HR & Accounting Specialist to join our team. This pivotal role combines expertise in human resources management and accounting functions to ensure seamless personnel administration, compliance, and financial accuracy. The ideal candidate will be energized by fostering positive employee relations, managing HR systems, and supporting strategic workforce initiatives. Your proactive approach will help drive organizational success through efficient talent management, benefits administration, and meticulous financial oversight. This role requires a high degree of discretion, accuracy, organization, and professionalism when handling confidential employee and financial information. The position works collaboratively across departments to maintain effective processes, accurate records, and consistent internal procedures while providing cross-functional support for key accounting and HR activities. Responsibilities Lead and maintain customer onboarding processes in support of the sales process Manage purchase order (PO) software and identify opportunities for process improvement and customization Manage subscription-based services, federal and state registrations, and professional organization memberships Implement and oversee company safety programs, including eyewear and footwear programs Track and maintain accounts receivable Collaborate across teams and cross-train on core accounting procedures Maintain the employee handbook and coordinate annual reviews and updates Oversee and improve the onboarding process for new employees Manage the annual employee performance review cycle and related process improvements Reconcile company credit cards monthly Audit and support the DOT compliance program Cross-train on the following accounting functions: annual budgeting, month-end accounting activities, loan payments, invoicing, and payroll Maintain confidential personnel records and handle sensitive information with integrity while ensuring regulatory compliance management across all HR functions. Requirements Bachelor's degree in business management, finance, accounting, human resources, or other related field At least 5 years related professional experience High proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel and Outlook Proven experience in HR department functions with a strong understanding of human resources management principles. Experience with payroll processing, benefits administration, personnel administration, and data collection for reporting purposes. Excellent communication skills with the ability to handle confidential information discreetly and effectively manage employee relations issues. Strong project management skills with the ability to coordinate multiple initiatives such as training & development programs or organization design projects. Ability to analyze data accurately using Excel for insights related to workforce metrics or compliance reporting.
Pay:
$24.00 - $29.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
