Senior Accountant FLSA Status:
Full-time/Salaried/Exempt Senior Accountant cfd Investments, Inc., a Christian Faith and Family-based Registered Broker/Dealer dedicated to providing Financial Advisers with the necessary support, tools, techniques, quality financial products, and technologies for the achievement of their clients' goals and objectives, is looking for a Senior Accountant to join our accounting team. This is a full-time salaried position with benefits located in Kokomo, Indiana. Hours are 8 AM to 5 PM Monday through Friday. Salary is dependent on experience. Qualifications and responsibilities are below. Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our finance team. This role is essential in maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with GAAP and other regulatory standards, and supporting the organization's financial health. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with accounting systems, financial software, and data analysis, along with a strong understanding of corporate accounting practices. This position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment where precision, confidentiality, and analytical skills are paramount. Responsibilities Ensure adherence to financial compliance standards such as SOX regulations and GAAP guidelines, including ASC 606. Research and oversee the adoption of new accounting pronouncements and the impact on operational accounting functions. Manage and oversee general ledger accounting and month end close process, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and fluctuation explanations to ensure accuracy and compliance. Prepare and analyze financial statements, reports, and deliverables requested from internal and external parties. Utilize various financial software systems including Workday, QuickBooks, Sage, PeopleSoft, UltiPro, Kronos, ADP, Ceridian, and HRIS platforms for data entry and reporting purposes. Support internal audits by providing necessary documentation and ensuring all financial data is accurate and up-to-date. Work proactively and effectively with other departments within the organization to continue to increase collaboration and improve business processes Identify process improvement opportunities and actively manage the implementation of opportunities identified for the accounting function to drive operational efficiencies while maintaining accounting integrity Maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial information while ensuring data integrity across all platforms. Oversee the compilation of accounting policies and procedures manual. Requirements Proven experience in accounting or finance roles with strong knowledge of accounting concepts such as double entry bookkeeping, debits & credits, and corporate accounting practices. Extensive experience working with accounting software systems like QuickBooks, Sage, Workday, PeopleSoft, UltiPro, Kronos, ADP, Ceridian or similar platforms. Proficiency in Excel data analysis including formulas and functions such as VLOOKUP for efficient data management. Familiarity with financial compliance standards including SOX regulations and GAAP principles. Strong analytical skills with the ability to perform detailed account reconciliation and analysis tasks effectively. Experience in handling confidential information responsibly while maintaining accuracy in data entry and reporting. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks related to accounts payable/receivable management and general ledger activities. Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA or similar certification is preferred but not required. Prior experience working in public accounting or corporate finance environments is highly desirable.
