Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Sr. Accountant to join our team on a Contract basis in Muncie, Indiana. This position plays a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting reporting cycles, and ensuring accounting activity aligns with established controls and compliance standards. The ideal candidate brings strong experience in manufacturing accounting, a sharp eye for detail, and the ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
  • Oversee general ledger activity and maintain accurate financial records by reviewing transactions and confirming proper accounting treatment.
  • Prepare and record journal entries while supporting timely month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities.
  • Reconcile balance sheet accounts and sub-ledgers, including payables, receivables, payroll, inventory, and banking activity.
  • Produce periodic financial statements and management reports that support business planning and operational decision-making.
  • Investigate variances and transaction discrepancies, then resolve issues to preserve the accuracy and integrity of financial data.
  • Strengthen compliance by applying internal controls, following accounting standards, and maintaining organized supporting documentation.
  • Partner with internal and external auditors by supplying schedules, explanations, and requested records during audit engagements.
  • Complete required tax-related and government reporting in accordance with applicable regulations and filing deadlines.
  • Contribute to accounting process improvements, policy updates, and system-related enhancements that increase efficiency and reporting accuracy.
  • Provide analytical support and day-to-day guidance to accounting colleagues and management on financial matters as needed.
