This posting covers Staff Accountant opportunities with manufacturers based in and around Burton in Genesee County, within about 30 minutes of the city, including Lapeer, Fenton, Grand Blanc, and Holly. The Opportunity We collaborate with multiple companies in the Burton area seeking experienced Staff Accountants. Usual Responsibilities Prepare financial statements and supporting schedules. Support external audits by providing documentation and explanations. Maintain fixed asset records and depreciation schedules. Assist with budget preparation and variance analysis. Prepare and post journal entries for month end close. Reconcile bank accounts and general ledger accounts. Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions. Assist with inventory accounting and cost of goods sold analysis. Recommended Qualifications Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance. to 4 years of accounting experience, preferably in manufacturing. Proficiency with ERP systems and Microsoft Excel. Knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting. Bonus Qualifications CPA or CMA certification or progress toward certification. Experience with cost accounting and inventory valuation. Familiarity with SOX compliance and internal controls. Advanced Excel skills including pivot tables and VLOOKUP.
