Austin, Niester, Schweihofer & Finnegan, P.C. is seeking a Staff Accountant / CPA to join our growing team in Port Huron. We are a well-established CPA firm providing tax, accounting, audit, review, compilation, nonprofit, and advisory services to a diverse client base. Our size gives our professionals the opportunity to work directly with clients and gain experience in multiple areas of public accounting rather than being limited to one specialty. We are interested in candidates ranging from accountants beginning their public accounting careers to experienced CPAs looking for a long-term professional home.

Responsibilities may include:

Preparation of individual, corporate, partnership, non-profit and trust income tax returns Preparation of financial statements Participation in audits, reviews, and compilation engagements Tax planning and research Working with closely held businesses and their owners Assisting clients with accounting and financial reporting matters Communicating directly with clients and developing long-term client relationships Working with senior accountants and partners on more complex engagements

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field CPA license or progress toward CPA licensure preferred Public accounting experience preferred but not required Strong accounting and analytical skills Excellent attention to detail Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to manage multiple assignments and deadlines Desire to develop professionally and build long-term client relationships Why Join our Team?
