This role is responsible for assisting with month-end close, performing account reconciliations, preparing financial statements, and handling various accounting tasks to ensure accuracy and compliance with internal and external reporting standards. The Plant Accountant will also contribute to a work environment where fairness, equality, and non-discriminatory practices are the standard. Prepare monthly account reconciliations Post the received checks log Update Capital Appropriation Request (CAR) files Reconcile the tooling file and recommend actions for closure Maintain the fixed asset system and record monthly depreciation Post bi-weekly payroll entries Update and maintain headcount analysis reports Prepare various journal entries as needed File monthly Sales & Use Tax returns Compile the weekly cash requirements report Review accounts payable invoices for appropriate account coding and supporting documentation Prepare working papers for review by corporate accounting Assist the Office Manager and support other accounting or administrative tasks as assigned by management Ensure all responsibilities are performed in compliance with the Company's quality system Perform other related duties as assigned Supervisory Responsibility This position has no supervisory responsibilities. Work Environment This position operates primarily in an office and manufacturing environment. The role routinely involves the use of standard office equipment, including computers, telephones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines. While performing job duties, the incumbent may frequently be exposed to moving mechanical parts within the manufacturing area. The noise level in the manufacturing environment is typically moderate. Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position. While performing job duties, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The employee frequently stands, walks, uses hands to grasp small objects, handles materials, feels, and reaches with hands and arms. Position Type/Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time position. Standard work hours are Monday through Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Overtime and weekend work may be required based on business needs. Travel This position requires travel up to 10% of the time. Travel is primarily local during the business day; however, occasional out-of-town and overnight travel may be required based on business needs. Required Education and Experience 1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field 2. Minimum of one (1) year of experience in accounting, bookkeeping, or financial analysis Preferred Education and Experience Experience working in a manufacturing or automotive environment Proficiency with Systems, Applications, and Products in Data Processing (SAP) or similar Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems Strong skills in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel (pivot tables, data analysis, and financial reporting) Knowledge of cost accounting principles, inventory control, and standard costing is a plus Soft Skills Strong analytical skills Technical capacity Time management Organizational skills Communication proficiency Strategic thinking Financial management Work Authorization/Security Clearance Must possess valid documentation authorizing employment in the United States 2.
