The organization operates motorcoaches year round, offering custom receptive charter operations and motorcoach transportation in Alaska, through the 'lower 48', and even across the globe. From home offices in Alaska and Minnesota, operations leverage extensive tour planning experiences to craft bespoke journeys anywhere, adapting services to each unique location, season and request - receptive, motorcoach charter or package tour. Role Description The Controller is a full-time, on-site role based in Lake City, MN, responsible for overseeing all core accounting and financial operations for John Hall's Alaska. This role manages the general ledger, supervises accounts payable and receivable, and ensures timely month-end and year-end close processes. The Controller prepares financial statements, budgets, cash flow forecasts, and variance analyses to support leadership in decision-making. Day-to-day tasks include monitoring cash flow, all operational revenues and expenses, reconciling bank and credit card accounts, maintaining internal controls, and ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations. The role also includes collaborating with executives for financial reporting. Qualifications Demonstrated expertise in core accounting functions, including general ledger management, accounts payable and receivable, reconciliations, and financial statement preparation. Proficiency with accounting software and banking systems, including Quickbooks online, as well as strong skills in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Suite tools. Knowledge of GAAP and relevant regulatory requirements, with experience managing audits and working with external tax and accounting partners. Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple deadlines in a dynamic environment. Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work closely with leadership, operations teams, banking institutions and other financial partnerships. Experience in Human Resource related subjects including onboarding, payroll, audits and payroll taxes. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; Prior experience in accounting related position Commitment to ethical financial practices and maintaining accurate, timely, and transparent financial records.
