Position Summary The Accounting Intern supports a variety of functions within the department to gain hands-on experience and to cultivate the individual's professional accounting skills. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Assists with accounts payable and receivable processes Assists in reconciling statements and identifying discrepancies Reconciles general ledger accounts to prepare for monthly financial reporting Maintains print and electronic records for certificates of insurance documentation Prepares, compiles, and sorts documents for data entry Maintains the integrity and confidentiality of the Company's accounting and financial records Completes assigned tasks or projects to gain insight into accounting and office operations Qualifications and Skills Proficient in the use of Windows operating system and Microsoft Office applications Excellent interpersonal and analytical skills Ability to maintain confidential and meticulous records Work Environment and Physical Requirements Works in a temperature-controlled office environment, with low noise levels Prolonged periods of sitting required Rarely required to walk, stand, lift, climb, pull, or push objects weighing up to 10 pounds
