The Senior Accountant will support a broad range of accounting, payroll, banking, tax, compliance, and administrative functions. This role is well suited for a detail-oriented professional who understands accounting principles, enjoys investigating discrepancies, and can independently manage processes from review through resolution. Key Responsibilities Maintain and review general ledger accounts, journal entries, recurring transactions, and financial statements for accuracy. Research and resolve accounting discrepancies, unusual balances, posting issues, and reconciliation variances. Prepare monthly journal entries, supporting schedules, financial reports, and documentation for external accountants. Perform detailed bank and proof-of-cash reconciliations across multiple accounts. Manage banking activity, including ACH/check file uploads, Positive Pay exceptions, account transfers, and transaction review. Process and review payroll data, timekeeping adjustments, commissions, payroll reports, employee changes, and annual W-2 information. Support employee benefit and retirement plan administration, including insurance invoice reconciliations, payroll deductions, enrollment changes, and 401(k) reporting. Review sales tax reports, investigate tax exceptions, prepare monthly filings, and assist with income, franchise, and property tax reporting. Support multi-state registrations, annual reports, agency filings, and other federal, state, and local compliance requirements. Maintain employee information across payroll, accounting, HR, benefits, and related systems. Assist with year-end procedures, audit support, records management, and other accounting or administrative projects as needed. Qualifications Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience will be considered. 3-5+ years of progressively responsible accounting, bookkeeping, payroll, or financial operations experience preferred. Solid understanding of accounting fundamentals, including debits and credits, journal entries, accruals, general ledger accounts, reconciliations, and financial statements. Experience with bank reconciliations and general ledger account reconciliations. Experience preparing, reviewing, or researching journal entries. Payroll experience strongly preferred. Strong Microsoft Excel skills and comfort working across multiple accounting, banking, payroll, and benefits systems. Experience with ADP or comparable payroll software preferred. Experience with sales tax, multi-state compliance, Avalara, or employee benefits administration is a plus. Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify issues, research root causes, and follow through on resolution. Ability to work independently, manage deadlines, and handle confidential financial and employee information professionally. #IR1
