Chief Financial Officer Position Summary The Senior Accountant is a high-impact, senior-level finance professional who serves as a critical bridge between day-to-day accounting operations, business systems, and strategic financial insight at Lucas Lawn & Landscape, LLC. The right candidate brings deep accounting expertise, strong analytical skills, and the systems fluency to work effectively in a modern, data-driven environment. They are comfortable owning the numbers, presenting insights to ownership, and identifying opportunities to improve how the business tracks, measures, and grows. Experience in the commercial landscaping, construction, or field services industry is strongly preferred. Key Responsibilities Accounting & Financial Management
- Own the full-cycle accounting function — accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, bank reconciliations, and month-end close
- Manage job costing — ensure all revenue and costs are accurately allocated by job, division, and crew
- Monitor gross margin performance across Maintenance and Landscape divisions and flag variances
- Support the Controller or CFO in audit preparation, tax filing coordination, and annual financial review Systems & Data Integrity
- Serve as the power user for QuickBooks Online — maintain chart of accounts, class structure, and reporting configuration
- Serve as a "power user" for Aspire month end closing process.
- Identify and resolve discrepancies between operational system data and accounting records
- Support the implementation or improvement of financial systems and integrations as the Company grows Qualifications Required Minimum 10 years of full-cycle accounting experience in a senior or lead accounting role Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field Strong analytical skills — ability to interpret financial data, identify trends, and present findings clearly to non-financial stakeholders Experience with job costing, project-based accounting, or service industry accounting Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and meet deadlines without close supervision Proficiency in Microsoft Excel Experience preparing financial statements and supporting information for tax preparation High degree of accuracy, integrity, and professional discretion with sensitive financial information Preferred Experience in commercial landscaping, construction, field services, or a similar industry Experience supporting business development through financial analysis and pricing models CPA or CMA certification — a strong plus
