Job Description

Position Summary The Project Accountant plays an active role in the financial close process, supporting both revenue and cost functions. Responsibilities include a mix of transactional processing, reporting, reconciliation, and review, with opportunities for financial analysis. The position will require a willingness to learn. It will also require the ability to succeed in a team environment, a propensity to meet strict deadlines, and a solid work ethic. Additionally, the ability to communicate effectively with various levels of the organization is necessary. The position would be a good fit for someone with strong processing experience looking to broaden their skill set and gain experience in analysis. You will report to the Director of Project Accounting working with the Project Accounting team. You will work on site in Mount Airy, NC.
Essential Functions Project Accounting including:
Maintain cost rates Perform weekly burden costing and allocations Field operations' requests for financial adjustments and information Field external audit requests Participate in the financial close process: Book standard cost entries Process revenue accruals Prepare journal entries Reconcile to general ledger accounts Other responsibilities and tasks as assigned Minimum Requirements Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field Minimum 2 years of relevant work experience Experience with MS Excel intermediate functions (Pivot, functions, lookups) High degree of accuracy and attention to detail Strong interpersonal skills; customer service orientation Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
