Description A growing nonprofit organization in White Plains is seeking a Senior Accountant for a contract engagement. This position will support day-to-day accounting operations, month-end close activities, financial reporting, grant tracking, and account reconciliations. The ideal candidate will have strong nonprofit accounting experience and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities

+ Prepare and review journal entries and general ledger activity

+ Perform monthly bank, balance sheet, and account reconciliations

+ Assist with month-end and year-end close processes

+ Maintain accurate financial records in accordance with GAAP

+ Support grant accounting, restricted funds tracking, and reporting requirements

+ Prepare financial statements and management reports

+ Assist with audit preparation and supporting schedules

+ Analyze financial data and investigate discrepancies

+ Collaborate with leadership on budget-to-actual reporting

+ Ensure compliance with nonprofit accounting regulations and internal controls Requirements Qualifications

+ Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field + 5+ years of accounting experience, preferably within a nonprofit environment

+ Strong understanding of GAAP and nonprofit accounting principles

+ Experience with grant accounting and fund tracking preferred

+ Advanced Microsoft Excel skills

+ Experience with accounting software and ERP systems
