This role handles statutory close, regulatory reporting, and client-facing accounting support across a portfolio of insurance entities. The client will take a strong auditor making a first move out of public accounting, an insurance accountant already in the seat or a accountant from a related field eager to learn. Join an accounting function early enough to influence how it runs as the company scales. What You'll Own Execute month-end and quarter-end close across a portfolio of insurance entities. Prepare statutory financial statements under Statutory Accounting Principles. Prepare NAIC and state insurance regulatory filings. Handle claims accounting activity. Reconcile accounts and maintain audit-ready supporting workpapers. Act as a day-to-day accounting contact for client finance teams. Support the external audit and turn around auditor requests. Spot what is slow, manual, or breaking and raise it before it becomes a problem. Work with technology and product teams to automate recurring accounting workflows. Must-Haves Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance. 3-7 years of accounting or audit and assurance experience. Insurance accounting, insurance audit and assurance experience, fund accounting, or related field. Working knowledge or eagerness to learn statutory accounting (STAT/SAP) and insurance regulatory reporting, including NAIC. Hands-on month-end and quarter-end close experience. Comfort communicating directly with client finance teams. Proficiency with accounting systems and genuine interest in automating manual processes. Nice to Have CPA or active CPA candidate. Captive insurance or alternative risk accounting experience. Experience preparing NAIC annual statements. Prior experience at an early-stage or high-growth company.
