Blue Marble is looking for a Staff Accountant who is early in their career, eager to learn, and ready to build real accounting depth. You do not need to walk in knowing every answer. You do need to care about getting the details right, ask good questions, and want to understand how individual transactions become reliable financial statements. You will work across the day-to-day accounting cycle, support close and reporting, learn our systems, and gradually take ownership of more complex work as your skills grow. If you are looking for a place to build a strong accounting foundation and keep expanding from there, this could be a great fit. What You'll Do Build the

Prepare journal entries, maintain supporting schedules, and learn how activity flows through the general ledger.

Own Your Reconciliations:

Take responsibility for assigned bank, balance-sheet, vendor, and customer reconciliations and investigate differences when something does not tie. Support the

Close:

Contribute to monthly, quarterly, and year-end close activities while learning what a clean, accurate close process looks like. Work Across the

Business:

Support AP, AR, cash, inventory, and other accounting areas and partner with teammates when information needs clarification. Keep the

Data Clean:

Maintain accurate information in NetSuite, Brex, Excel, and supporting schedules so reporting starts from a reliable foundation. Learn the

Reporting Cycle:

Assist with financial statements, management reporting, audit schedules, and recurring accounting packages.

Make Things Better:

As you learn the processes, help us identify simpler, more accurate, and more efficient ways to get the work done. What You Bring Attention to

Detail:

You notice when something is off and care enough to figure out why.

A Solid Accounting Base:

You understand debits and credits, reconciliations, journal entries, and the basic structure of financial statements.

Curiosity:

You want to understand the reason behind the work, not just complete the checklist.

Follow-Through:

You are comfortable asking questions, tracking down missing information, and finishing what you start.

A Learning Mindset:

You take feedback seriously, learn from mistakes, and want your responsibilities to grow with your capability.

Reliability:

You stay organized, meet deadlines, and take pride in producing accurate work. What It Takes Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field preferred. Some real-world accounting or finance experience. This may be approximately 1-2 years of professional experience, or strong internships, co-op experience, or other substantive hands-on accounting work. Working knowledge of journal entries, reconciliations, general-ledger activity, and basic GAAP concepts. Comfort with Excel and financial schedules, including formulas, reconciliations, and organized supporting workpapers. Exposure to an accounting or ERP system. NetSuite experience is a plus, but not required. Strong communication, organization, and attention to detail. What Sets You Apart Experience supporting a month-end close, preparing account reconciliations, or working with inventory, manufacturing, retail, or e-commerce accounting will stand out. So will experience with NetSuite, Brex, public accounting, or audit. CPA eligibility or an interest in pursuing a professional accounting credential is welcome, but it is not a requirement. We care more about whether you have the foundation, curiosity, and work ethic to become an excellent accountant. How You'll Grow This role is designed to develop. As you build confidence and judgment, you should take increasing ownership of close activities, account analysis, inventory and cost-accounting support, reporting, controls, and process improvement. We are not hiring a Controller in disguise. We are looking for someone with a strong starting point who wants to learn, contribute, and become materially better over time. Is Blue Marble Right for You? We're intentionally building a culture of people who lead by example, challenge one another respectfully, take ownership of their work, and want to continue learning and improving. Blue Marble may be exactly the place you're looking for if... You take ownership of your words, actions, and work product. You value honest, hard conversations and long-term progress over short-term comfort. You enjoy solving meaningful problems and seek purposeful work. You see feedback as an opportunity to improve and grow. You naturally look for ways to make things better and help others succeed. You ask questions when something isn't clear. You believe character matters as much as competence. You proactively bring solutions to problems. On the other hand, you probably won't enjoy working here if... You spend more time making excuses or pointing fingers than solving problems. You consistently avoid difficult conversations. You believe your responsibility ends with your job description. You need someone to constantly tell you what to do. You become defensive when receiving constructive feedback. You believe being right is more important than finding the best solution. You consistently wait for instructions rather than taking appropriate initiative. You have difficulty acknowledging mistakes and learning from them. You're primarily looking for a paycheck rather than an opportunity to meaningfully contribute. We're not looking for perfect people. We're looking for capable people who want to keep getting better and who bring their best to the people and work around them. If this sounds like you, let's make great things together. Additional Information This description is not exhaustive; responsibilities may evolve as Blue Marble grows. Blue Marble is an equal opportunity employer. We consider qualified applicants without regard to any characteristic protected by applicable law and provide reasonable accommodations throughout the hiring process.
