Senior Accountant - Construction A growing organization is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join its accounting team. This role is ideal for someone with a strong construction accounting background who is comfortable working with WIP schedules, job costing, and project-based accounting. Responsibilities Manage and oversee day-to-day accounting activities, including general ledger, AP, AR, and account reconciliations. Prepare and maintain Work-in-Progress (WIP) schedules and analyze job costs, revenue, and gross margins. Perform job cost accounting and review project financial activity for accuracy. Assist with monthly and year-end close, including journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and financial reporting. Analyze project budgets versus actual costs and identify variances or trends. Work closely with project managers and operations teams to ensure accurate and timely financial information. Assist with percentage-of-completion accounting and revenue recognition related to construction projects. Prepare financial reports and provide accounting analysis to management. Support budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow analysis as needed. Assist with audits, tax support, and other accounting projects. Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, controls, and reporting. Ensure compliance with established accounting policies and procedures. Qualifications 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably within the construction industry. Strong hands-on experience with WIP accounting and job costing. Understanding of percentage-of-completion accounting and construction revenue recognition. Solid knowledge of GAAP and month-end close procedures. Experience preparing journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, and financial statements. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to investigate variances. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and accounting/ERP systems. Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to work independently while partnering effectively with project management and operations teams.

Pay:

$80,000.00 - $94,000.00 per year
