The successful candidate will be the "lead person" responsible for processing and submitting to an external payroll processing company, the weekly hourly non-union and union payrolls and semimonthly salaried payroll. The ideal candidate will possess solid payroll processing skills, experience with various payroll systems, and a thorough understanding of tax law and labor regulations. Responsibilities Process payroll accurately and efficiently use the payroll software supported within the organization of approximately 400 employees. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment and labor laws related to payroll processing and tax obligations. Reconcile payroll data with general ledger accounts and prepare journal entries for payroll transactions. Maintain confidentiality of sensitive employee information while managing payroll data entry and updates. Calculate and remit payroll taxes, including federal, state, and local tax filings in accordance with applicable regulations. Collaborate with HRIS systems to update employee records, track time & attendance data, and ensure accurate payroll processing. Assist with year-end reporting requirements such as W-2s, 1099s, and other governmental filings. Support audits by providing detailed reports on payroll transactions, tax payments, and compliance documentation. Reconcile time & attendance systems with payroll records to ensure precise compensation calculations. Handle inquiries from employees regarding payroll matters professionally and promptly. Assist Accounts Payable by voucher select vendor invoices accurately and timely. Assist in ad hoc Accounts Payable tasks and projects as assigned. Experience Minimum Associate's degree with Bachelor's preferred Proven experience of at least 3 years in payroll and general accounting or related roles within corporate accounting or finance environments. Diverse knowledge of various payroll systems Strong understanding of employment law, tax law related to payroll taxes, and labor law compliance across multiple jurisdictions. Proficiency in accounting software Solid experience with Excel Ability to handle confidential information responsibly while maintaining high accuracy in data entry and recordkeeping. Excellent analytical skills combined with attention to detail for performing account reconciliations and financial analysis.

Pay:

$60,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
