Job Description

•We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Certified Public Accountant (CPA) to join our dynamic financial team. This role involves overseeing comprehensive accounting functions, ensuring regulatory compliance, and providing strategic financial insights to support organizational growth. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in public accounting, governmental and non-profit sectors, and demonstrate a strong understanding of complex financial concepts. As a key contributor, you will play an integral role in maintaining accurate financial records, preparing detailed reports, and advising on financial strategies aligned with industry standards and legal requirements. Duties Prepare, analyze, and interpret financial statements in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and regulatory standards. Conduct detailed account reconciliations, including balance sheet and bank reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and completeness. Manage general ledger accounting processes, including journal entries, double entry bookkeeping, and ledger reconciliation. Oversee accounts payable and receivable functions, ensuring timely processing of invoices, payments, and collections. Perform cash flow analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis to support financial planning. Ensure compliance with SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) regulations and other regulatory reporting requirements. Utilize financial software such as PeopleSoft, QuickBooks, Quicken, and other enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems to streamline accounting operations. Support internal audits and coordinate external audit activities by providing necessary documentation. Assist with regulatory compliance accounting related to securities law, LIHTC (Low-Income Housing Tax Credit), and other industry-specific regulations. Conduct financial report writing and interpretation for management review and decision-making. Implement process improvements using Excel data analysis techniques like VLOOKUP functions for efficient data management. Mentor junior staff members in technical accounting practices, fostering a culture of continuous learning. Experience Proven experience as a CPA with a minimum of five years in public accounting or corporate finance environments. Extensive knowledge of GAAP, regulatory compliance accounting, and technical accounting standards. Demonstrated expertise in governmental accounting practices and non-profit accounting frameworks. Strong familiarity with financial software such as PeopleSoft, QuickBooks, Microsoft Office Suite (including advanced Excel skills), and spreadsheets for data analysis. Experience working with financial concepts such as accrual accounting, journal entries, account analysis, and financial report preparation. Knowledge of securities law compliance requirements and federal/state regulatory reporting procedures. Ability to interpret complex financial statements and provide actionable insights through detailed analysis. Excellent organizational skills with a keen eye for detail; capable of managing multiple priorities effectively. Strong communication skills to collaborate across departments and mentor team members.
