Job Description
Under general supervision, performs accounts payable and City credit card accounting functions, including reviewing invoices, processing vendor payments, and reconciling and posting credit card statements. Ensures transactions are accurately coded, properly approved, supported by required documentation, and recorded within established timelines. Prepares journal entries, reconciles general ledger accounts, and supports financial reporting, year-end closing, audits, and related municipal finance activities. Provides professional assistance to vendors, cardholders, and City departments regarding transactions, payment inquiries, and discrepancies.
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications Must possess or be able to obtain within 90 days of hire, a valid Texas Driver License and be eligible for coverage under the City's vehicle insurance provider.
At least four years of experience in accounts payable or a related field.
A bachelor's degree in business management, finance, accounting, public administration, or a related field.
An equivalent combination of education and experience that provides practical knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and compliance may be considered.
