Senior Accountant II, Segment Core Accounting, FTI Consulting, Inc., McLean, VA. Provide accounting support to our client service professionals and Segment Finance leadership. Participate in accounting for segment finance activities, primarily the recording and record keeping of revenue for segments. Apply knowledge of U.S. GAAP and experience with revenue recognition, reporting, and controls. Review sales contracts to ensure proper revenue recognition. Analyze and understand various products/business and revenue/expense streams to ensure proper revenue recognition and proper setup in the system. Conduct month end closing of monthly revenue and expense ledgers with closing schedules: prepare revenue journal entries and account reconciliations. Assist in adopting and implementing new revenue recognition policies under the new revenue recognition standards ASC 606. Identify process issues and implement improvements to enhance productivity and efficiency. Support and improve month, quarter, and year-end close processes and reporting. Prepare and post other monthly journal entries, including variable compensation accruals, reserves, and bad debt. Maintain journal entry tracking spreadsheet, and prepare balance sheet account reconciliations for related accounts. Telecommuting permitted up to 25% of the time. 40 hrs/week, Mon-Fri, 8:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

: Must have a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, plus 3 years of experience in accounting. Must have 3 years of experience in US GAAP disclosure requirements. Must have 2 years of experience in utilizing salesforce CPQ reports for revenue recognition and applying ASC Topic 606. Must have 2 years of experience in unit-based accounting for a technology-related segment. Must have 2 years of experience working with both domestic and international operating units. Must have 2 years of experience in PC and network environments, Excel (including Pivot tables, array functions, Power pivots), and IBM Cognos TM1 or similar reporting software.

License/Certification:
