JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Under the direction of the Director of Business Services, coordinates activities related to grant oversight and maintenance. Will also provide support for budget development, monitoring, and modifications. Specific duties include, but are not limited to: Monitor grants / service agreements to ensure that contractual, Board of Control and fiscal processes and policies are being implemented with fidelity and are in compliance with all local, state and federal laws and regulations. Communicate, coordinate and train department staff on the setup and monitoring of grant budgets and accounting. Assist in the development, setup, and monitoring of grant and non-grant program budgets. Compile and track grant details (awards, amendments, communication, documentation, indirect rates, etc.) and respond to inquiries. Consult and collaborate with department directors to support fiscal processes related to grant / service agreement management. Review grant purchases for reasonability and allowability, and then prepare and submit grant claims. Prepare journal entries as needed. Create and distribute annual staff work plan templates. Perform periodic federal time and effort work plan reconciliations. Calculate and appropriately apply indirect cost recovery rates, including preparing entries, to all required programs. Prepare and communicate documentation related to grant requirements, processes and procedures, including updates to the Agency grant manual. Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related area desired Three to five years related experience Experience managing federal grants and/or governmental accounting desired Experience developing and monitoring budgets Highly proficient in MS Excel and Google Suite Collaborative and customer-focused mindset Ability to solve problems and think critically Willingness to see a project through from start to finish Experience preparing for federal or other compliance audits desired Agile, demonstrating a growth mindset by leveraging flexibility, resilience, and change. Highly collaborative, working with others to achieve a common goal in a way that promotes representation and participation by all. Excellent verbal, non-verbal, and written communicator who expresses ideas and information with clarity and respect aligned to an intended audience and purpose.
