Senior Accountant
Job Description
Job description: Multi-National Manufacturing Company is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant with 3-5 years experience for a position at our manufacturing facility in Apple Grove, WV. We offer competitive wages, benefits, and a collaborative work environment.

•This is an in-office position only and applicants should be able to reliably commute to Apple Grove, WV. The Senior Accountant for APG Polytech will oversee all areas of taxation including federal and state income, sales and use tax for the US entities, as well as assisting the Finance Manager with the Holding accounting process and internal audit functions, benefit plan oversight and matters of IFRS and US GAAP compliance. This position will be involved in daily accounting/finance functions, provide innovative tax planning, consulting, and compliance instruction and act as an agent for change and collaboration on operational initiatives throughout the organization. This position will also serve as a focal point for external audits including consolidation and IC reconciliations, FP&A duties. Support the Finance Manager in Finance & Administration duties, including occasional travel to U.S. entities as required.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Working knowledge of SAP. Demonstrated leadership, teamwork, innovation, and accountability. Outstanding analytical and quantitative skills. Strong understanding of International Financial Reporting Standards as they apply to a manufacturing environment. Experience with corporate taxation and partnerships. Expertise in US taxation of global entities, especially related to tax planning, research, international tax and project management. Excellent advisory, compliance, verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex information. Able to work independently, have strong time management and problem-solving skills and able to prioritize job lists efficiently. Uses critical thinking and reflective analysis to make best decisions for the plant and the team following plant policies, procedures, OSHA, and environmental standards. Proficiency in AI and Microsoft Office applications with strong Excel skills. Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and commitment to meeting deadlines. Ability to manage multiple priorities and tasks as a self-starter in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. Carries out job duties in a manner that demonstrates ability to achieve the expected level of efficiency, quality, timeliness and results.
Responsibilities:
Advise and assist Leadership on applicable tax matters. Preparation of Holdings federal and state income tax returns, subject to review with external advisors as necessary. Oversee tax compliance, including the systems for estimating and computing the taxes for forecast, planning and reporting purposes Ensure that appropriate returns are filed in all required jurisdictions based on the operations of the companies and their affiliates. Maintain current knowledge of changes in and compliance with IFRS standards. Research and application of technical IFRS requirements. Identify and lead continuous improvement initiatives. Assist management and subsidiaries with tax and accounting questions. Review, update, and identify ways to improve existing accounting and tax processes Support in the preparation of the annual financial statement package in accordance with IFRS and the Notes. Assist All the US Subsidiaries for external financial auditors and collect information for audit data requests, facilitate internal and external audit needs. Evaluate allowed tax depreciation methods and select and implement the method most suitable to APGH and its subsidiaries Advise on federal tax withholding implications of payments to foreign vendors and provide calculations for making required remittances and filings. Preparation of applicable sales and use tax returns, ensure the right workflow is in place in SAP to validate SUTAX compliance. Assist the Finance Manager with the monthly and quarterly financial closing process and general accounting activities. Preparing and recording monthly journal entries for month-end accruals, recording liabilities, IFRS entries, etc. Assist the Finance Manager on the monthly process to review, reconcile and verify accuracy of all general ledger accounts and sub-ledgers (BART analysis). Supervise fixed asset ledger and manage depreciation recordings. Supervise the reporting and timely capitalization of capital projects. Ensures the proper recognition and accounting of fixed assets in accordance with IFRS and supports any impairment assessments as needed. Assist the Finance Manager in the monthly reporting and the periodic forecasting and budgeting process. Supports the Finance Manager with related ad hoc tasks, including due diligence exercises and financial module reviews, to provide input or recommendations for potential M&A activities. Develop, implement and maintain internal controls policies and procedures Support annual physical inventory count and reconciliation process Coordinate and communicate with management regarding corporate objectives, guidelines, procedures, and policies and ensure continued compliance. Assist Finance Manager with the cost savings/profit improvement programs. Establish the savings tracking models. Develop and maintain a proper system of internal controls to ensure timely and accurate financials review and document current accounting practices and procedures.
Compensation:
Compensation will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
Education:
Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
Years of Experience:
at least 3-5 years of directly related experience (public accounting and/or industry accounting experience including, fixed asset, indirect tax, income tax accounting and compliance) 3 years of experience in a manufacturing or SAP accounting environment.

$82,000.00 - $92,000.00 per year
