Ideal candidate will be based in the greater Columbus area with the ability to work a hybrid schedule, coming into the Dublin, OH office one day a week. Also open to remote candidates in Eastern and Central time zones.
_What General Accounting contributes to Cardinal Health_
General Accounting is responsible for maintaining the financial books and records and preparing financial statements in accordance with accounting standards.
_Responsibilities_
+ Lead post-go-live accounting support and issue resolution by identifying, investigating, and resolving accounting and system-related issues during the Hypercare period.
+ Coordinate close process reviews and validation activities to ensure transactions, postings, and financial results are processing accurately across key accounting areas, including intercompany. + Develop and execute transaction-level and reporting-based monitoring controls to detect errors, identify exceptions, and support timely remediation. + Partner with Accounting, IT, and Project teams to track, escalate, and drive resolution of outstanding ERP and process-related issues through completion. + Establish sustainable long-term controls and detective reporting measures to mitigate risk, improve data integrity, and support ongoing operational effectiveness. + Support accounting operations and special projects by partnering with various PD Accounting teams on financial analyses, account reconciliations, issue resolution, and process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and internal controls. + Build deep knowledge of accounting processes, transaction flows, and ERP functionality to independently assess accounting impacts and develop complex future-state journal entries. + Take ownership of assigned deliverables from start to finish, including information gathering, analysis, issue resolution, documentation, and workpaper preparation. + Proactively manage priorities and communicate status updates, ensuring deadlines are met, risks are identified early, and stakeholders remain informed of progress. + Demonstrate strong attention to detail and execution discipline by accurately following instructions, seeking clarification when needed, and minimizing rework through thorough understanding of requirements. + Ensure compliance with SOX requirements + Other PD Accounting close duties as needed
_Qualifications_
+ Bachelors degree in related field, or equivalent work experience, preferred + 3+ years corporate and/or public accounting experience in related field, preferred + Prior supervisory experience + CPA preferred
