This is a hands-on leadership position combining accounting oversight, tax support, team coordination, and direct client communication

You should be comfortable reviewing others' work, resolving problems, and keeping clients and team members informed without constant reminders. Key Responsibilities
• Manage accounting projects and deadlines across multiple small-business clients.
• Oversee and review bookkeeping, reconciliations, journal entries, and monthly and quarterly closes.
• Prepare and review financial statements, investigate unusual balances, and correct accounting errors.
• Delegate work, guide virtual bookkeeping staff, and follow through on corrections and outstanding tasks.
• Support individual and business tax preparation, review books for tax readiness, and coordinate adjustments with the tax team.
• Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll reconciliations; assist with sales-tax accounting and filings.
• Communicate directly with clients, explain accounting matters clearly, and proactively follow up on missing information.
• Keep projects moving, identify risks early, and escalate complex issues with clear next steps.

Qualifications ( CPA License

REQUIRED

)

• Four or more years of relevant accounting, bookkeeping, tax, or public-accounting experience.
• Hands-on accounting and tax experience, including at least two tax seasons working with individual and/or business returns.
• Strong QuickBooks Online skills and knowledge of financial statements, reconciliations, cash and accrual accounting, and month-end close.
• Experience managing multiple clients or companies and reviewing other team members' work.
• Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to prioritize independently, work accurately and efficiently, and follow assignments through completion.

Accounting-firm experience, staff supervision, professional tax-software experience, and familiarity with Forms 1040, 1065, and 1120S are preferred.
