The role combines people leadership, operational oversight, and performance management, with close collaboration across departments to improve efficiency and support business goals.
Responsibilities:
  • Direct the day-to-day work of a sizable accounts receivable and payment processing team, ensuring priorities are met accurately and on schedule.
  • Coach, mentor, and evaluate staff performance while building a strong team culture focused on accountability, service, and results.
  • Oversee billing, cash application, collections, and related cash activity to maintain smooth and timely revenue cycle operations.
  • Design and refine workflows, procedures, and internal guidelines to improve consistency, productivity, and control across the function.
  • Prepare and analyze operational and financial reports, including KPI tracking, to measure team effectiveness and support decision-making.
  • Resolve complex customer concerns and escalated account issues with professionalism and sound judgment.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to align service levels, reporting needs, and process expectations across departments.
  • Support adoption and optimization of recently implemented systems by monitoring performance, identifying gaps, and recommending improvements.
  • Participate in recruitment efforts, onboarding, and talent development to ensure the team is equipped for sustained success. Requirements
  • 7+ years of experience leading accounting, accounts receivable, or payment processing teams.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business required.
  • Strong background in accounts receivable, billing, cash applications, collections, and cash activity management.
  • Demonstrated success supervising large teams in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
  • Experience creating workflows, improving procedures, and driving continuous process improvement initiatives.
  • Proficiency in KPI reporting and advanced use of Microsoft Excel for analysis and reporting.
  • Healthcare or insurance industry experience is highly preferred.
  • Exposure to call center operations, system integration activities, or AI-enabled process improvements is a plus.
