Position Summary:
The Quality Assurance Coordinator will support the effective implementation of the Quality Management System for a Food Storage and Distribution Facility. The QA Coordinator will support the ongoing review & development of all quality assurance programs, HACCP and HARPC plans, and ensure they meet applicable regulations and standards. What you'll do: Develop and implement local site QA documents and record requirements with oversight from direct supervisor and Corporate Quality Manager. Develop and implement HACCP, HARPC, and Environmental Monitoring (as needed) programs for Storage and Distribution as well as repack activities. Interact with regulators including FDA, USDA, State and local inspectors to ensure ongoing compliance with regulations along with timely resolution of deficiencies as needed. Train back-up to cover when not available. Lead facility compliance to policy and regulations through verification of monitoring records created by warehouse operations team(s.) Execute monthly internal inspections/audits, track findings, assign and ensure closure of corrective actions in a timely manner. Maintain readiness for Third Party GMP audit. Schedule and deliver local site Food Safety training. Support other training as needed. Investigate, log, track and trend customer complaints. Support corrective actions as needed. Collaboration with organizational leadership in the establishment of quality assurance objectives on an annual basis. Provide FSQA support to internal projects (e.g. new items, new procedures, etc.) Ensure new activities are added to the HACCP and HARPC plans as required. Additional warehouse responsibilities as assigned by manager.
About you:
Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Microbiology or related field or relevant experience. 1-3 years of experience managing QA systems. HACCP trained or ability to complete HACCP training within 6 months. Seafood HACCP a plus. Knowledge of FDA regulations, GMP's, food safety audits, process procedures and documentation. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. #
