Auditorium Technical Assistant

Job Description

Start date: September 1, 2026 The Auditorium Technical Assistant will report directly to the Auditorium Manager. This position will work on a wide variety of events in the Auditorium, supervise LOHS Theatre students working on productions, and assist with maintenance and upkeep of the Auditorium, including the theater scene shop.
Qualifications:
Skills/experience (required): 1+ years of technical theatre experience Ability to pass a background check to work with students 18+ years old Strong communication skills Ability to lift 50 lbs. Ability to work at heights Skills/experience (preferred): Experience in education, ideally with high school students Live audio mixing/stage audio setup (Midas M32 and QLab experience a plus) Basic knowledge of theatrical lighting (ETC Ion experience a plus) Carpentry experience (scenic carpentry or similar) Interest in further mastering skills in
Theater Technology/Design Duties:
During events: Supervise renters in Auditorium Run light board or sound board Move scenery backstage (including operation of fly system) Manage backstage areas Assist with event setup and takedown, including orchestra shell
LOHS Theatre Productions:
Work with LOHS students during rehearsals on lighting, sound, set construction, painting, props, costumes, makeup Supervise students during shows Other tasks: Assist with auditorium maintenance and upkeep, equipment repairs, and various projects Other duties as assigned by district administration and
Auditorium Manager Schedule/Hours:
Generally, weekday afternoons during LOHS productions. Will include some evenings/weekends for events, with a flexible schedule at other times. Hours worked within a week will not exceed 20 hours.
